Keemo

I'm Keemo, formerly known as Noonan. Both nicks are D&D characters I've ran. Been hanging about #C in one guise or the other for many years, ever since I read Spider's 'Post Toast' when I was in college, about 12 years or so back.

In the real world, I've been kicking about the planet since 1953, and don't plan on leaving it except by starship. I've been a sailor, logger, fisherman, carpenter, electrician, roofer, chef, salmon and oyster farmer, hack driver, and after my body broke down at 40, student, computer programmer, help-desk manager, sysadmin, college teacher, PC tech/builder and currently, grunt in a fish processing plant and part time geek at the same plant.

What I really am however is a writer of Science Fiction and Fantasy. So far unpublished, though I have high hopes for the novel I'm currently working on. Its got action, intrigue, romance, #C lunacy, aliens, starships and of course puns. Hey, if you know me, what else would you expect? Even were I not a punaholic, the central cast of characters are from my ficton's version of #Callahans, so puns are obligatory.

I recently moved back home to Quadra Island, BC, off the east coast of Vancouver Island, at the top end of Georgia Straight. I had left here, almost 8 years ago to cut down on my commute to Comox where I was a programmer for the Canadian Air Force. After budget cuts eliminated my department, things went from bad to worse, and I got tired of hearing employers tell me "You are a perfect match, but we have decided to go with someone local." I finally decided the hell with it and came home. Ironicly enough, after I'd been back about six weeks, my old house on the beach became vacant, and I truly am home again. Back where hanging out in #c began.

I came back in a big part to see my son through his final year of high school and hang out with him before he flies the coop. I also came back for the head space to finish my novel, and with certainty of finding a way to earn my keep. My long term goal is to become a full time writer, living aboard a 36 foot steel hull sailboat.
